Therapy, psychotherapy or counselling are common expressions to define talk therapy. A process of therapy always starts with an assessment.
You will be asked a set of questions and/or to complete questionnaires to help determine which direction to go. The subsequent sessions will be determined with your therapist.
The initial session is an assessment. It helps to figure out what approaches suit your mental health challenges. The assessment can last 1 or 2 sessions, sometimes more.
For some of us coming to therapy can be challenging for many reasons (e.g. living in remote areas; juggling with work, family, home).
Video therapy is another approach to connect with a mental health practitioner to break the cycle of isolation or simply to get support.
